I’m sure you have all seen and heard about the dress Rihanna wore to the CFDA Awards that left little to the imagination. Many thought it was too much, while others (like myself) wasn’t bothered in the least by it. What happened to the saying “What you eat doesn’t make me shit?”
All you have to do is Goggle Rihanna, and many other celebrites for that matter, for sexy pics and you will find much nudity. Apparently, this lady is proud of her body and not hesitant to show it. There wasn’t much media scrutiny about her nude pics in France’s Lui magazine, yet when she arrives at the CFDA Awards in a see-through gown…much of the world lost it.
Before you get into the “what about the little girls” bit, I have a teenage daughter. I showed her Rihanna’s dress, my daughter shrugged her shoulders and went back to what she was doing. She didn’t care. Celebrities are NOT her role model. You can love ones music and not agree with everything they do, or just simply not be bothered by it.
I thought the dress was daring, bold, almost a little crazy. But I must admit, she looks good..would I have worn that dress even if I had a body like hers…no., but I darn sure didn’t loose sleep because Rihanna chose to.
There are many celebrities that either has or still “push-the-envelope”: Grace Jones, Madonna, Cher, Prince, Jennifer Lopez, Joesphine Baker, Eartha Kitt, …I can go on and on. We didn’t get nude and put diamonds in our mouth because Grace Jones did, right?
Recently during an interview, Chilli and T-Boz also weighed in on Rihanna’s dress, stating on the Australian Sunrise show on Channel 7, “Every time I see you, you don’t have to be naked,” (T-Boz) “We became the biggest girl selling group of all time with our clothes on and that says a lot,” (Chilli)
Now, I love me some TLC, but they should have just stayed out of it. Especially since they have dressed provactive themselves on a few occasions, including this pic Rihanna added as her header in response to their criticsim via twitter:
“Those who live in glass houses, shouldn’t throw stones”…right?
